During a humanitarian mission in January 2010, four Lynn University students and two faculty

members were tragically killed when the 7.0 Haiti earthquake devastated the island nation.

Designed by renowned Sousa Architecture, the Remembrance Plaza features the elements of

light, water, stone and trees.

In a lot of ways the New Year allows us to begin anew with a clean slate.  Many of us start January 1^st with a list of resolutions or goals.  This year we wondered how many of those can be accomplished with stone.

For those in & out of the stone industry, let’s see what stone can do for you in 2012;

Resolutions:

1.  Travel and see the world.  Explore new destinations and famous sites while attending stone shows.  From Brazil, Egypt, Turkey, China and Italy stones fairs showcase the newest products and innovations in some of the world‘s most famous cities.

Our three adorable rescue kittens are now ready for adoption!  After three months of tender love and care from the wonderful volunteers at Paws of South Florida Rescue, Mary Marble, Peter Rocky, and Paul Boulder are ready to find a home for life. 

The Holiday season is upon us.  It is a time to give thanks and to appreciate our blessings.  All of us at Marble of the World wish to extend a special thank you to our loyal customers. 

We are greater than the sum of our parts.  It is not just our employees, products, and customers that make up this company.  These combined with the sense of community and friendship we have built over the last 25 years, the living environments we have helped make beautiful, and so many other intrinsic and undefinable instances make up the recipe for our company.  For every one of these things we give thanks.

It looks like it may be a rainy Halloween night for those of us in South Florida.  But if the rains stop, here are some helpful  Trick-or-Treating Tips for our young ghosts & goblins.

Trick-or-Treating Tips

•     Trick or treat in familiar neighborhoods.
•     Carry a flashlight with fresh batteries after dark.
•     Always trick or treat in groups, accompanied by an adult.
•     Follow a curfew and take a watch with a backlight.
•     Stay on the sidewalks and out of the streets.
•     Watch out for open flames in jack-o-Lanterns..
•     Only visit well lit houses. Don't stop at dark houses.
•     Don't enter any houses unless you know the people.
•     Carry a spare Halloween bag, in case yours breaks
•     Don't cut across yards and stay out of backyards.
•     Never accept rides from strangers.
•     Respect other people and their property.
•     Be polite and say "thank you."
•     Don't eat any candy until it's inspected for tampering
